Omen No. 49・壬子・Good Fortune
Keep the lot the temple keeper drew for you as a card you can carry. May the traffic be with you.
The verse
One leaf of a skiff crosses the cold ford alone,Let no boatman sit idle, his oar unknown.Loose the rope yourself, ask each who would board,Clear water mirrors two hearts, sincere, their own.
Reading
This lot bids you not to sit idle by the boat: when one comes, loose the rope with your own hand; when one boards, ask their name yourself. Where sincerity passes between, the water mirrors clear. It promises no full vessel — only the truth of how you meet each soul.
The temple keeper adds
A kind sign. The god nodded — small, but real.
