Omen No. 8・辛未・Even Fortune
Keep the lot the temple keeper drew for you as a card you can carry. May the traffic be with you.
The verse
At dawn the mist first wets a thousand fields, spending itself unasked on others' ground.Such breath, long gathered, one day climbs to cloud—ask not the hour the rain comes circling round.
Reading
This lot bids you give before you hope. Like mist that wets the field, ask no return; breath long offered may one day gather into cloud. Yet heaven's timing none can know—tend only what you give, not what may come.
The temple keeper adds
The middle path. No drama from the god today — only a road you can still walk.
